    Yorkshire has a population of 3,978,484, which makes it the largest county in britain. because of its size, the county is divided into four different sections; north yorkshire, west yorkshire, east yorkshire & south yorkshire.

    Yorkshire grew rapidly in the 19th century thanks to the Industrial Revolution. in fact, the county's prominent industries of coal, textile & steel meant that population in the county boomed around this time.

    Yorkshire has a rich history, which dates back to before roman times. Indeed, the earliest people who lived in the county were the Celts, who originated from two different tribes, the Brigantes and the Parisii.

    Despite this, Yorkshire owes a lot of its growth to the industrial revolution, which happened during the nineteenth century. The county had a popular coal, textile and steel industry during this time, which boosted its population and made it much wealthier.

    During the 2nd world war, Yorkshire became a vital base for raf Bomber planes.
